WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.- Kazakhstan Business Council took its first business delegation to Almaty and Astana in Kazakhstan, June 6-8, 2023 for a Trade Mission certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce. During the September 2022 United Nations General Assembly, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited this business delegation to Kazakhstan during a U.S.-Kazakhstan investors roundtable. The trade mission also followed up on U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s February 2023 visit to Astana. The business delegation consisted of more than 20 U.S. companies that engaged in consultations with Kazakhstan’s government to bolster U.S.-Kazakhstan trade and investment and help U.S. companies realize strategic projects boosted by Kazakhstan’s reform agenda. American companies comprise the largest private sector investor base in Kazakhstan with more than $40 billion in investments, and bilater
