Many facets are involved in a boon for Clay Center and Clay County, stemming from the pipeline and a new construction project.
Electricity requirements for a pump station going up on a hill roughly 3 1/2 miles southeast of town, will eventually lower electrical bills for customers in Clay Center and its hinterlands in Clay County by at least 14%, said Scott Glaves, director of utilities for the Clay Center Public Utilities Commission.
