HOUSTON, Texas – Despite a hot start and a career high of 29 points from All-ACC forward Amari Robinson, the Clemson Tigers women’s basketball team dropped its second game of the Van Chancellor Classic against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane by a score of 74-64. CU got off to a hot start in the first quarter and pounced out to a 19-11 lead, sparked by a pair of three pointers from point guard Nya Valentine. Robinson chipped in four points and Clemson outrebounded Tulsa 12-9 in the opening frame, as well. Tulsa bounced right back with a 19-11 quarter in the second to knot things up at 30 heading into the locker rooms for halftime. Robinson had a game-leading 15 points at the break. CLEMSON, S.C. – After an explosive second half against the Mercer Bears, the Clemson Women’s Basketball team took home its third win of the season, 90-66. Four Tigers scored in double figures, led by graduate Amari Robinson who recorded 21 points and seven rebounds in Littlejohn Coliseum. With the win, the Tigers have now reached their second consecutive 3-0 start. In the first quarter, Robinson dominated the Tiger offense, scoring nine of the Tigers’ 23 points. MaKayla Elmore was also a strong force for the Tigers, scoring five points and clocking four rebounds early on. She went on to record 11 points and seven rebounds, marking her career high in points scored. Ruby Whitehorn opened up the second quarter by drilling in two layups to widen the lead to 11 points, and remained the leader throughout the quarter, recording six points and three rebounds. November 13, 2022 – Amari Robinson and Ale’Jah Douglas combined for 33 of Clemson’s 61 points to lead Clemson to a 3-0 start, downing Richmond 61-40 on Sunday afternoon in Littlejohn Coliseum. The loss is the Spiders’ first of the season, while the Tigers move to 3-0 for the first time since 2020.Clemson finished with 36 points in the paint and 28 bench points on the afternoon. Robinson led the Tigers with 18 points, including a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line, followed by Douglas’s 15 on 7-8 shooting.
