United Way Of Effingham County Announces Spirit Of Caring Award Winners

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio   Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)-  United Way of Effingham County typically announces the Spirit of Caring Awards at the Annual Meeting recognizing an Outstanding Organization, Outstanding Volunteer and Outstanding Board Member.  However, due to the global pandemic, the United Way Annual Meeting was not held this year.  United Way of Effingham County is proud to thank and honor this year’s Spirit of Caring award winners:   Outstanding Organization – Koerner Distributor, Inc.  Koerner Distributor, Inc. has always been a supporter of United Way of Effingham County.  Their first campaign was held in 2002 and has grown throughout the years with their most recent campaign raising over $15,500.  They also conduct the Barstool Golf fundraiser event with proceeds going to United Way. West & Company Donates To United Way Of Effingham County

Effingham, IL / Effingham Radio Jan 21, 2021 11:22 AM Effingham, IL -(Effingham Radio)- Kayla Duncan and employees from West & Company presented a check to Linda Hemmen and Michelle Gillespie from United Way of Effingham County.   Donations raised through their employee and corporate campaign raised a total of $3,820 for the 2020 campaign. This was a 27% increase from last year. 20 local Partner Agencies receive funding from the United Way of Effingham County campaign.

The Forsyth County Board of Education met on Tuesday, Dec. 15, to hold a dedication for the district’s retirees, honor a long-time board member, give thanks to the Morrow Community Foundation and approve the purchase of new buses for the district.   Honoring Nancy Roche Superintendent Dr. Jeff Bearden thanked Forsyth County Board of Education Chair Nancy Roche at her last board meeting on Tuesday as she prepares to step down from her seat at the end of the year.
