The Helena Senators American Legion Post 2 baseball team returns to the diamond this weekend to open its 2021 season with a pair of double headers Saturday and Sunday at Kindrick Legion Field versus the Missoula Mavericks and Bozeman Bucks respectively.
Skipper Jon Burnett is back at the helm after guiding the team to a 39-17 record ago and a runner-up finish at the Montana Class AA State Tournament.
Burnett was named 2020 Montana American Legion Coach of the Year for his efforts, and is very excited about this team this season.
All-state pitchers Ethan Keintz and Cy Miller, who are finishing up their freshman college seasons at Pacific Lutheran and Miles City CC, return to lead a formidable rotation according to Burnett, two all-conference, all-state pitchers coming back for us, but we are excited about the seniors we have as well, we still have Eamon Burke and Tyler Tenny.who can start a game for us or close.
