Johnson County Amends 2021-22 Budget

Forum Held on Proposed Tax for Facilities – Sheridan Media

A forum was held Wednesday evening at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center, to present information and allow the public to ask questions about the proposed one-cent specific purpose tax to maintain, replace or upgrade municipal facilities. The proposed 1% Specific Purpose Excise Tax proposal will be on the ballot for voters to decide in the special election on August 17 th. The projects include improvements at the fairgrounds, Jim Gatchell Museum, Buffalo Golf Course, Bomber Mountain Civic Center, Kaycee Library, Senior Center, YMCA, and building a recreation center in Buffalo. Also part of the proposal is infrastructure in both Buffalo and Kaycee, and a maintenance savings account.
