Kawartha Conservation has issued a water safety statement for its regional watershed in response to information received from environmental agencies. The statement, issued as a general notice that existing or potential conditions pose a risk to personal safety, remains in effect through to Sunday, Jan. 14.
Designed to promote mental well-being by immersing participants in the calming embrace of nature, Forest Therapy returns to the Ken Reid Conservation Area north of Lindsay on Jan. 24. The event coincides with Bell Let’s Talk Day, a time dedicated to raising awareness about mental health.
An annual tradition came to a prematurely abrupt end. After sustaining damage sometime around Christmas Day, the Illuminated Forest at Ken Reid Conservation Area was closed to the public.
Making a return for a second year in a row, the Illuminated Forest featured thousands of lights adorning trees in the cedar forest along with a lighted nighttime trail in Lindsay.
