The Kaw Nation Family Trauma Healing Center is taking steps to bring attention to Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). February has been deemed as the National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month. This cause is an issue that an estimated 1 in 10 teens will experience, according to youth.gov. Not only will it affect those teens, but also everyone in their lives, including their teachers, parents, friends, and extended communities. By giving this issue a name and awareness, people in these young peoples’ life are able to promote safe and healthy relationships within their lives.
Edwin Fair Mental Health Center will be holding their Mayfest event on Thursday, May 11 on their front lawn at 1500 N. 6th St. in Ponca City from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. Mayfest exists as a means of celebrating May as Mental Health Month and to raise awareness for mental health.
