Bengaluru, Feb 23 : In less than 10 days, another Covid cluster has been found in Bengaluru with 10 Covid-19 cases being reported from a multi-block apartment, civic body Commissioner, N. Manjunath Prasad said on Monday.
According to a statement, the cases were reported from the S.J.R. Watermark Apartments, in Ambalipura at Bellandur of Mahadevpura Zone.
This apartment complex comprises nine blocks housing 1,500 people. Based on the findings, six contagious blocks have been declared a containment zone by the Bengaluru civic body, while other three blocks are 200 metres away and have not reported any case among their residents.

Civic Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad stressed on the importance of strict vigil and enforcement of protocols, especially wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
Addressing BBMP health officials on Friday, he said that while nearly 6,000 cases a day were being reported in Kerala, there was a spike in cases in as many as 21 districts in Maharashtra, with South African and Brazilian variants also being detected there.

Offline classes for grade eight will begin from February 22 in Bengaluru (and other areas bordering Kerala) while sessions for grade six and above will start in the rest of the state from Monday.

The first cluster was found at Manjushree Nursing College near Kaval Byrasandra in the city, where 210 students are studying. Most of them are from Kerala. Out of 210, 40 people were found infected with COVID-19, said Palike. He added that another cluster of 103 people was found at the SNN Raj Lakeview apartment in Bommanahalli. They had arranged a social program in the apartment complex. After the program when they took the COVID-19 test and many were found positive for Coronavirus infection. Total 1,052 persons live in the apartment, out of which 103 persons tested positive and 96 persons out of 103 infected are above the age of 60, Prasad stated.
