HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - A former JROTC Army instructor at Waimea High has been charged with sexually assaulting a former student.
Victor Aguilar, 65, faces five counts of second-degree sex assault. His bail is set at $1 million.
Authorities said the case started with an investigation into Aguilar’s alleged misuse of government-issued electronic devices. Detectives obtained warrants to search the devices along with his cellphone.
Aguilar resigned his position as a JROTC instructor after being notified of the DOE investigation’s findings. The Kauai Police Department said its investigation is ongoing.
