Chelmsford rock gang Tigress have confirmed details of their debut album, and shared a brand-new single.
The band’s upcoming debut LP Pura Vida follows a trio of EPs – 2015’s Human, 2017’s Like It Is and 2018’s Who Cares – and is due out on September 3 via Humble Angel Records.
“The album is about confronting everything you don’t like about yourself, turning it into something you love, and leading a pure life from there,” explains vocalist Katy Jackson explains, adding that a holiday to Costa Rica inspired the title and a fresh new mindset.

The full-length is set for release on 3rd September via Humble Angel Records, with the news arriving alongside their new single Disconnect .
“The album is about confronting everything you don’t like about yourself, turning it into something you love, and leading a pure life from there,” says vocalist Katy Jackson, inspired by a trip she took to Costa Rica. That trip changed me. It made me realise how I was so self-absorbed. It made me think I wanted to live a purer life.
Of the single, she adds: When the instrumental for ‘Disconnect’ landed in my inbox, I immediately started writing about how unplugged I felt from reality, I had experienced life at its fullest and most connected and then dumped back into such a lonely and isolated existence.

An extensive project in Leeds has been designed to reduce flood risk and provide major environmental benefits.
A flood alleviation scheme in Leeds is using “ground breaking” Natural Flood Management (NFM) techniques to slow the flow of the River Aire and reduce the risk of flooding.
The £112M Phase two of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme is now underway. Alongside engineering works such as flood walls and a flood storage area, the NFM approach will reduce flood risk and provide better protection for 1,048 homes and 474 local businesses.
Leeds City Council group engineer Katy Jackson says that Leeds is classed as high risk in terms of flood mapping.
