Time for my (belated) overlong discussion of the Women’s Basketball Team. Last night was the annual exhibition opener against D2 Saginaw Valley State. MGoBoard poster jplwhite has a nice overview of that over on the message board, so I won’t step on their toes here. This season sees, by far, the most roster transfer in KBA’s tenure. It’s a new world out there, right?
With the women’s first exhibition game coming up at the end of next week, I figured I would finally post this. I started keeping track of the movement on the women’s basketball roster during the offseason for my own sanity. I am not posting any links here, because that would be a lot. However, all of this information came from either public social media posts, basic google searches, and non-paywalled websites.
So the Women’s Basketball team played 3 games in Europe this summer, with the last one this afternoon. Since I am definitely confused about who might be our leading scorers behind Laila Phelia, I figured I would take a look at the stats that Michigan published about these games (top scorers published on Twitter). They played 2 games against Humber college (a college in Toronto whose team also apparently took a trip to Italy) and 1 game against ŽKK Tresnjevka (a Croatian team).
