The Art Association of Jackson Hole is once again fundraising for art education through a suite of socially-distanced libations.
Sourced from local artists and makers, this yearâs âShindig in a Box,â comes in three forms: a $400 picnic complete with wine from Niner Wine Estates and four handmade cups, a $300 champagne package for two, or a $150 cocktail party courtesy of a new citrus strawberry vodka from Jackson Hole Still Works.
The boxes are a stay-at-home alternative to the nonprofitâs typical in-person summer fundraiser, which was canceled for a second straight year due to COVID-19.
Local painter and sculptor Katy Ann Fox, who created the cups in the picnic package, credited the association with continually providing fresh creativity in her life.
Voting is underway for Jackson Hole Still Works’ annual Spirit of Wyoming Label Art Competition featuring the work of 8 Cowboy State artists. The winning artist receives $2,000 and their artwork will be the featured label on the Jackson Hole Still Works Vodka bottle for a full year.
In addition to highlighting Wyoming artists, this contest also raises money for art organizations. This year, the donations are earmarked for the Wyoming Arts Council who provides funding and support for numerous projects in every county across the state.

Teton Valley artist Susan M. Rose has said that the âact of creating brings balance to [her] life and allows her to enjoy the abundance of nature.â
Translating our three-dimensional world onto a two-dimensional surface is where the magic happens for her, Rose has written. And of course, once her paint is on each canvas, that two-dimensional canvas expands and becomes its own macrocosm.
Whether she is painting en plein air or working from memory and photographs in her studio, recreating the atmosphere of places she loves, many of which are just outside her Victor, Idaho back doorâis what Susan Rose strives to do. And few in our area are as successful as she.
