THE harsh economic situation occasioned by the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic and negative impact of the border closure on the private sector and the ordinary Nigerians made President Muhammadu Buhari to order the re-opening of shut land borders, a top Presidency source has stated.
The source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, yesterday, said that President Buhari had to order for the immediate re-opening of four land borders upon realising that ordinary Nigerians and the private sector were bearing the brunt of the closure.
Group hails Buhari over rescue of kidnapped Katsina School Boys

A Nongovernmental Organisation, NGO, Citizens Action for Good Governance, CAGG, Friday, hailed President Muhammadu Buhari over rescue of kidnapped Katsina school boys from their captors.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National Coordinator, CAGG, Nazir Galadanchi, where the group made it known that the security of Nigeria is under control as the Buhari-led administration is doing all within its powers to ensure Nigeria and Nigerians are well secured and protected despite the bluff of bandits and insurgents.
The statement also acknowledged role played by Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and other service chiefs in the release of the boys after much negotiation with their captors.
NIGERIA – Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the kidnapped Katsina schoolboys in Kankara. The group in the released video stated: âWhat happened in Katsina was done to promote Islam and discourage un-Islamic practices as Western education is not the type of education permitted by Allah and his Holy Prophet.
âThey are rather destroying Islam. It may be subtle, but Allah the Lord of the skies and earths knows whatever is hidden. May Allah promote Islam. May we die as Muslims,â Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram Leader said.
Although efforts have been intensified to rescue the Kankara boys, security experts and public analysts have suggested that Shekau may release the victims based on three arrangement which the federal government may be forced to take one,’
