Rebecca Tsukigawa has lived in Bromley for 10 years but has decided to move, partly because of the "sickening" smell from the Christchurch wastewater treatment plant.
In 1957, an 18-year-old Dorothea Brown boarded a Dutch flagged ship and embarked on the long journey from the Netherlands to New Zealand. Twenty-nine years later she became the first woman to be appointed city librarian in Christchurch.
