WSFCS offering meal bundle kits for spring break

Spring break has officially begun at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. While that means relaxation and fun time away from school for many students, it also can mean uncertainty for students who rely on school meals for breakfast and lunch. Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools has developed a new way to keep students fed during the break.Click the video player above to watch the latest headlines from WXII 12 News.Families with students under the age of 18 can pick up free meal bundle kits that last a week.Each bundle includes seven days of breakfast and lunch meals, as well as fresh produce and a gallon of milk. This week, they will be able to make tacos, quesadillas, southwestern chicken skillet bakes, enchiladas. and a couple of other things, Katie Willard said. Willard serves as the marketing specialist for the child nutrition department at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.Each meal requires some preparation before serving.
