SEMO women's track and field won the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship held last week in Birmingham. It was the Women's team eighth indoor title, and their first since 2013. Head coach Eric Crumpecker was selected as the OVC Women's Coach of the Year.

Once again this week, Redhawk student-athletes collected conference honors for outstanding athletic performances. Five different student-athletes collected honors this week.
Katie Wegmann, a redshirt junior, won first place at the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle Invitational, for her first career top cross country finish. She paced SEMO’s women s cross country team to a third place finish. The Redhawks cross country teams will compete in the OVC Cross Country Championship on Monday.
Junior men’s basketball guard Eric Reed, Jr. was named the league s Newcomer of the Week. Reed helped lead the Redhawks to a pair of home wins last week against two of the top five teams in the conference. The Redhawk men will clinch a spot in next week’s OVC Basketball Tournament with just one victory in their final two road games this weekend.
