...................... I know this because of the time I spent in New Mexico. I’ve been thinking a lot about that time recently, but then again, I always do this time of year. The month of February holds a painful anniversary for me because it’s the time I went public with the worst experience of my life. Most of you may remember me as a kicker for the Lobos in the early 2000s, but not the backstory of the journey that brought me to the University of New Mexico. I started my college education and athletic career at the University of Colorado, where my dream of becoming the first woman to play Division One college football quickly turned into a nightmare. A team with several players who verbally, physically and sexually harassed me. At the end of my first year, I was raped by one of the few teammates I trusted.

Vanderbilt kicker Sarah Fuller Because of COVID-19 protocols, the specialists were placed in quarantine and Fuller found herself practicing with the football team as a kicker, The Vanderbilt Hustler s Simon Gibbs reported. The kickers had returned by the time Vanderbilt faced Tennessee on Dec. 12; however, the coaches elected to use Fuller in the lineup.  Only two other women have also played in FBS games. Katie Hnida was the first woman to suit up for a Power 5 conference program while at Colorado in 1999. She kicked two extra points for the University of New Mexico against Texas State in 2003.
