Langport s Katie Dodds recognised in New Year s Honours List

A CHAMPION of the sport of hockey, who hails from Somerset, has been awarded an MBE as part of the New Year s Honours List. Katie Dodd, from Somerset, has been recognised for services to hockey, having been involved in the sport for the best part of 40 years. England Hockey passed on its congratulations, and said that Dodd s roles within the sport had been hugely significant . As a player, she won 26 caps for England in the 1970s and 80s, and captained her country to the bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships. Off the pitch, she dedicated more than 25 years to Ealing Ladies Hockey Club, and became a highly respected administrator at at club, county, regional and national levels.
