Unofficial Champaign municipal election results released to public

As of 7:54 p.m. tonight, an unofficial vote count for the municipal election has been posted to the Champaign County Clerk’s webpage. According to the results, which will be made official in 14 days, out of 136,443 registered voters in the city of Champaign, 9,123 cast their in-person and mail-in ballots so far in this.

Voters reelect reelected Mayor Feinen in Champaign and Mayor Williams in Danville

Voters in Champaign and Danville re-elected their mayors Tuesday, but by widely different margins. Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen received 5,358 votes, or nearly 75 percent of the unofficial tally. In Danville, Rickey Williams Junior has been re-elected to serve a second full term as mayor. Williams defeated his challenger, Vermilion Housing Authority executive director Jackie Vinson, by just 59 votes, according to Tuesday night’s unofficial returns.,
