“We have come to a conceptual agreement,” Hochul said during a press conference at the State Capitol. “We’re going to work on language over the next few hours.”
The governor’s 10-point plan includes expanding the number of bail eligible crimes to cover more gun charges and would allow judges to consider a suspect’s criminal history and set bail for repeat offenders, according to reports.
“The reality is that because New York State is a leader in the finance, healthcare, energy, and transportation sectors, our state is an attractive target for cybercriminals and foreign adversaries,” Hochul said in a statement. “It is my top priority to keep New Yorkers safe, and we will remain vigilant.”

The extension comes as the governor’s face covering edict was set to expire next Tuesday and just days after confusion was sparked after the state appealed a lower court ruling striking down the mask rule as unconstitutional.
