Monday is yet another first day of school for Jefferson County Public Schools.
Middle and high schools will reopen to in-person learning, welcoming back more than 15,000 students whose last names start with A through K. The second half of the alphabet will start back on Thursday.
They will join thousands of younger students who began returning to classrooms on March 17, as Kentucky s largest district nears the end of its phased school restart.
About two-thirds of the more than 96,000-student district will have been inside a classroom by the end of the week. The remaining students opted to continue virtual learning because of the pandemic.
