Educators and mental health specialists largely agree creating art sharpens critical thinking skills, enhances mental flexibility and fosters self-esteem. No disrespect to the pros, but itâs more likely the girls and boys who designed the eye-catching murals on display at Einstein Medical Center Montgomeryâs Braemer Medical Arts Building in East Norriton see art-making in more basic terms â simply a fun way to spend a hot summer day.
The show is a collaboration between Greater Norristown Art League (recently re-branded as GNAL800West), Variety the Childrenâs Charity and Montgomery County Community College. Kids in each of the three organizationsâ summer camps partnered with one another to complete the colorful over-sized panels that will hang in Braemerâs lobby through Nov 10. An opening reception is scheduled for July 31 at 1 p.m.
