A SKILLS training organisation has bought a beauty clinic so it can offer a new qualification from this summer. Somerset Skills and Learning - which provides adult education, apprenticeships, traineeships, qualifications, training and development and workshops - is the new owner of Cloud 9 Beauty Clinic. The long-established business, in Palmer Street, Frome, re-opened in April and beauty therapist Kate Mines is continuing to provide treatments for new and existing customers. Kate previously owned Cloud 9, along with her business partner, and has worked as a beauty therapist for more than 25 years. Kate said: It’s great to start this new chapter with SS&L and have the opportunity to be part of a business that will provide high quality training for future beauty therapists.
A NEW training centre is set to open in Shepton Mallet this summer. Somerset Skills & Learning (SS&L) are opening a new training centre in the building which was previously the Tourist Information Centre in the High Street. SS&L provide communities with courses and workshops to help improve lives through learning. Kathryn Baker, CEO of SS&L, said: “I’m very much looking forward to opening our new centre in the heart of Shepton Mallet where we will make community and adult education accessible to local people. This has never been more important than now, as we start to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
