Our Correspondent Diphu, June 7 (EMN): Polling officials left to their assigned polling centres from the counting centre at Diphu Government Boys’ High School on Tuesday for the smooth conduct of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council election. Polls will be held on June 8 across four Legislative Assembly constituencies of Diphu, Howraghat, Bokajan and Baithalangso at 908 polling stations with the total vote count of 6,93,985. Yesterday, 21 number poll parties for far flung areas departed for their respective destinations from the counting centre at Diphu Govt. Boys HS School. The advance poll parties were sent to 21 polling stations of Singhason, Langpher, Korkanthi, Nomat and Lumbajong. Altogether 84 polling officials accompanied by two Home Guards and two police personnel as security moved yesterday in the 21 polling stations which are located in remote areas.
