Tear gas grenades woke Kimberly Jane at 2 00 a. M. The first thing she did was try to go outside for a better picture. Trying to get back in their house. They are bullets flying around. Yeah, thats tear gas. The battle just would not stop. Thats what we are hearing all night. Put down the gun, please come out with your hands up. I have it on my video. Please put the gun down. The sheriff deputy said they were trying on monday afternoon to take Joshua Simpson in for an Emergency Mental Health evaluation. They say he ran back inside and fired at them repeatedly. Police deployed snipers and Armored Vehicle and crisis negotiators. So, i thought it was in my backyard. Police say this ended about 17 hours after it began. They say simpson came out of his house and again began shooting at the Police Officer. They returned fire and he was wounded severely. I just hope hes okay. Through all kinds of protection. D. C. Police spokesperson issued this statement this afternoon. The defendant was in the custody of three different agencies. Each agency conducted a search of the defendant and at this point, its unknown when, where the weapon came into the defendants possession. This incident is under investigation. Our sources say that gun found on isaiah was loaded. This is Bruce Johnson reporting from the d. C. Superior courthouse. And the Marshall Service said the prisoner was never in the custody of the d. C. Corrections department. That would mean only d. C. Police and Deputy Marshalls would have been responsible for searching isaiah. Well explain why. Jesse matthew, the suspect in the Hannah Graham case, is indicted on charges related to a nearly decade old Fairfax County rape case. Im jan jeffcoat. Im derek mcginty. Tonight the 32yearold is either charged or linked to three area cases. The charges filed today include attempted capital murder, abduction and sexual penetration related to a Sexual Assault of a woman in fairfax in 2005. The then 26yearold victim was able to provide enough detailed description to yield that police sketch, one that years later would link matthew to the case of Morgan Harrington, the Virginia Tech student who vanished in charlottesville in october of 2009. Harrington was found dead the following january. Police say forensic evidence does link those two cases. So the former Liberty University student is charged with allegedly doing almost the same thing to graham only this time the victim lived to tell her story.
