It is 30 years ago this month since that historic mission but students in Hartlepool have their own reason to remember Helen – because she came to their school.
Back in 2015, she paid a visit to High Tunstall College of Science to help launch a STEM initiative. Helen spent loads of time with teachers and students (including some who came in from other schools) as she talked about her fascinating time in space.
