A Summit School District committee tasked with making policy recommendations presented a number of proposals to boost students’ academic success during an Oct. 5 Summit Board of Education meeting. The recommendations come from the District.
Consuelo Redhorse, a Summit Board of Education member first elected in 2019, announced she will seek reelection this fall. Four board seats, including Redhorse’s, will be up for election in November. Redhorse was appointed president.
Kate Hudnut, who was first elected to the Summit Board of Education in 2017, has stepped down as board president, a position she has held since early 2020. Board member Consuelo Redhorse was appointed to succeed.
The Summit Board of Education approved a spending plan for the 2023-24 school year totaling $53.8 million, a roughly 10% increase in expenses from 2022-23. Board members unanimously voted for the proposal during their June.
