LAST week’s mystery structure was a memorial built in 2000 to mark the start of the new millennium. It is, as correctly identified by several people, in Thornton-in-Craven, at the junction of Church Road and the A56, and was built by Mark Chadwick, says his sister, Andrea Day, of Carleton. Other readers to recognise the memorial, which includes a built in clock, and seat, were Cynthia Thornton of Low Bradley, Michael Townson of Barnoldswick, Linda Curtin, Kate Ellison, and Valerie Corbridge, Barnoldswick. The memorial is just one of many others around Craven and the rest of the country built to commemorate the start of the new millennium.
