Foxtel enlists Herd MSL for PR duties

Publicis Group PR and communications agency, Herd MSL has won the PR account for Foxtel, following a competitive pitch.
In its new capacity Herd MSL will support Foxtel’s PR and content communications team in delivering “full 360 integrated marketing campaigns” and positioning Foxtel as “the home of sport and entertainment in Australia”.
Skye Lambley, group managing director at Herd MSL said that the agency is looking forward to delivering creative campaigns for a marquee brand known across Australia.

Foxtel appoints new head of pay per view division

The Foxtel Group has appointed Conor Woods as head of per view, in what is a newly created role.
Foxtel said that the hire, and new position was created following continued growth for its Main Event audiences, a long-standing feature for the platform, boosted by its sport offering Kayo.
Woods has experience working for a number of sports broadcasters, previously at BeIN Sports, where he was managing director for Australia and New Zealand, as well as spending almost 15 years at Setanta Sports (now Eir Sport). He joins Foxtel from SportsBusiness, where he was senior vice president.

Foxtel makes big hires as news streaming service draws closer

Former news.com.au editor-in-chief Kate de Brito has been tapped by Foxtel to lead work on a news streaming service, set to be called NewsFlash.
NewsFlash, which is expected to launch in Q4 this year, will become Foxtel’s third SVOD product developed by streaming division Streamotion. It will join Kayo and Binge.
A spokesperson for Foxtel confirmed that de Brito’s move and added that she’ll be joined by James Law, who runs News Corps newswire offering.
“The Foxtel Group is examining a news streaming service, and Kate De Brito is working on the business case for the service and other necessary planning in the event the project proceeds,” the spokesperson said.
