The castle on St Michael s Mount off the Cornish coast will be the home of a lucky job applicant
Just advertised – the position of “castle officer” for a stunning, abbey-fortress with a thousand-year history on an island just off the southwest coast of England. An appealing requirement of the job is that the successful applicant will have to live in the castle at St Michael’s Mount at least five nights a week. The job advert includes a long list of tasks with a mostly management focus, although there’s also a chance to research the castle collection, and work on displays and interpretations of the site and its contents.

If you love sea views and can live without pizza deliveries then a unique job opportunity could be for you.
The historic island of St Michael s Mount, off the coast of Cornwall, is looking for a new castle officer.
The estate wants someone who can stay at the castle at least five nights a week and take a hands-on approach to maintenance duties.
But those who suffer from sea sickness need not apply, as the only way on and off the island at high tide is by boat.
