ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that reduction of poverty and uplift of poor people’s living standard would be real success of his government.
“Our struggle for reduction of poverty is going to complete 25 years and if we manage to do so, it will be the real success of my five-year government,” he said, pointing out that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) would be celebrating the quarter century of its existence on coming Sunday.

An anti-encroachment tribunal on Wednesday refrained the authorities from demolishing leased houses during the ongoing anti-encroachment drive along the Gujjar Nullah.
The tribunalâs presiding officer, Shakil Ahmed Abbasi, directed the provincial
local government secretary, Karachi administrator and commissioner, and Karachi Metropolitan Corporationâs directors for Katchi Abadis and anti-encroachment departments to maintain the status quo, and ordered them to file their reports till April 15.
Some 50 residents of Federal B Area, Tayyababad, Rehmanabad, Kausar Niazi Colony, Choona Depot, Liaquatabad, Wahid Colony, Qabail Colony, Peoples Colony and Arafat Town had filed two separate suits against the provincial and city administrations. They claimed to have possessed a 99-year lease of their plots by the KMC and the Sindh Katchi Abadis Department between 1994 and 2004.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will start an anti-encroachment operation along the 11.25km Orangi nullah Friday, officials said.
In the first phase, the KMC and district administration are
to remove soft encroachments from the stormwater drain.
