The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has said that the village head of Libere, Mr Bala Yero, his wives and children numbering 16 were abducted by suspected herdsmen.
In a statement on Friday signed by the spokesman of the Union, Luka Binniyat, the Union said for reasons not clear to SOKAPU, the Kaduna State government did not include in its Daily Security Update, the abduction of 67 Adara villagers from Libere Gari Village, Kallah ward, Kajuru LGA in Southern part of Kaduna State last Tuesday night by persons identified by the villagers as armed Fulani militia.
” The gunmen who arrived at the village around 11 pm went about shooting in the air to scare the villagers as they captured their victims from compound to compound. They spent two hours unchallenged. ”

The Kaduna Police Command has rescued 15 kidnapped victims along Buruku – Brinin Gwari road in Brinin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The command Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, in a statement, explained that, “On the 8th April, 2021, at about 1525hrs, unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits in large number bearing dangerous weapons blocked Buruku – Birnin Gwari road around Unguwan Yako forest in an attempt to kidnap the occupants of two (2) Volkswagen vehicles.
“One with Reg. No. AE 355 EDE while the other unregistered. A swift response by the Operatives of the Kaduna Police Command forced the marauding bandits to retreat and flee into the forest with bullet wounds, abandoning their victims.”

The Police Command in Zamfara State has said it has secured the release of 11 kidnapped victims in the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Muhammad Shehu, announced this in a statement issued in Gusau on Saturday, NAN reports.
“We have secured the release of 11 kidnapped victims by a group who took them to a forest near Gobirawan Chali in Maru Local Government Area.
“10 out of the 11 victims are natives of Kyakyaka, Tungar Haki and Gidan Ango villages of Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara, while the other victim is from Kaduna State.
“All the rescued victims have been debriefed by the police and later handed over to the Ministry for Security and Home Affairs that will reunite them with their families.
