The court has also directed the convict to pay Rs.10,000 as compensation to the girl, failing which his jail term shall be extended by another three months
The case concerned the transfer of pleas in a land acquisition case from Itanagar to the Principal Bench. These are administrative decisions and are not meant to cast aspersions on judges at Itanagar, the Court stressed.
While overruling the convict's refusal to undergo the DNA test, the Court said the right to privacy and the right against self incrimination would not override “the search of truth”.
