Govt Shifts DRDO Hospital Out Of Budgam
The basic spade work going for 500-bed DRDO special hospital for Covid-19 in a Budgam village.
The hospital will now come up at Khunmoh where the administration has located a building. Officials said the soil test report was not supportive of the construction because of the marshy land and that shifted to a pre-constructed facility was simply aimed at saving time.
The hospital envisages 125 fully equipped ICU beds for Covid19 patients and a 50-double room accommodation facility for doctors and paramedic staff.
The shifting is being seen as depriving Budgam of a major facility. But the Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Shahbaz Mirza has said the hospital was not a permanent facility. He has said the government plans to set up a district hospital on the piece of land.
