A second crewman on board an iron ore carrier anchored off the Pilbara coast since late March could be evacuated to Karratha Health Campus after a rapid test showed a positive result for COVID-19.
WA Health Minister Roger Cook confirmed the Aquagenie seafarer had returned a positive result on board the vessel but was yet to undergo PCR testing to rule out a false positive.
Health Minister Roger Cook said the matter was in the hands of AMSA.

A woman in her 40s believed to have the second case of blood clots linked to AstraZeneca in Australia developed the symptoms about two weeks after receiving her vaccination, according to the WA Health Minister.

A man who tested positive to COVID-19 has been taken off a ship currently in Commonwealth waters off Karratha in northern Western Australia and will be moved to a Perth hospital.
The man in his 50s, a crew member on board the Aquagenie, became unwell and was tested on board the ship on April 8. The rapid results test returned a positive result.
