A pharmacy network that operates primarily in Alabama and Mississippi settled a case Tuesday with pharmaceutical company Roche for $43 million over fraudulent rebates for diabetes testing supplies.
The case was filed in the U.S. District Court in Northern Alabama in 2018. Attorneys for Roche alleged that Priority Healthcare Corporation, which operates pharmacies and related businesses in Alabama and Mississippi, billed insurance companies for diabetes test strips that weren’t shipped or cost more than the supplies patients received. Employees at Priority Healthcare Corporation then sought rebates from Roche.
