On March 9, 2023, the Union Ministry issued a letter revising the monthly salary for veterinarians from Rs 50,000 to Rs 56,100, along with a 3 per cent annual increment, as approved by the competent authority. However, veterinarians working under the private agency claim that their salaries range from Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000, falling significantly short of the Rs 16,100 and Rs 11,100 increments mandated by the Union Ministry.
