Bengaluru weather on may 18: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Karnataka including Bengaluru, indicating heavy rains from May 18 to May 20. South Karnataka is expected to bear the brunt, with a forecast of 115.5-204.5 millimeters of rainfall during this period.
Bengaluru rains: The good news extends to parched Bengaluru, which can expect light showers over the next 2-3 days. Relief is on the way for several South Indian states as the region braces for another day of moderate to heavy rainfall.
IMD Update: Weather department forecasts rainfall with thunderstorm activity over Central India on 13 February and East India during 13-15 February. Orange alert issued for rainfall, thunderstorm, lightning, and hailstorm in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand on 13 February.
Karnataka has been facing its worst drought in recent years due to monsoon failure. As many as 216 of the 236 taluks in the state have been declared drought-hit.
Over the next seven days, South Peninsular India can expect varying degrees of rainfall, with some areas likely to experience heavy to very heavy rain.
