Mysore/Mysuru: Director General of Police (DGP)(Training) Padam Kumar Garg (P.K. Garg) has called upon Police personnel to develop a helping attitude apart from functioning efficiently and honestly.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the Passing out Parade of 44th batch of Police Sub-Inspectors (Civil and KSISF – Karnataka State Industrial Security Force) at KPA (Karnataka Police Academy) Parade grounds here this morning.
Lauding the KPA for successfully conducting training even during COVID-19 crisis, P.K. Garg said that those joining the Police force should strive for updating their knowledge and skills regularly.

Water supply and sewerage board sought for city, as well as relocation of bus stand
Former Minister and Narasimharaja Assembly constituency MLA Tanveer Sait has urged Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to establish a water supply and sewerage board for Mysuru and set aside 50 per cent of the penalty amount collected for traffic violations for improvement of traffic management infrastructure in the city.
The demand for an exclusive board for Mysuru has also been made by other people’s representatives including MP Pratap Simha and Chamundeshwari Assembly constituency MLA G.T. Deve Gowda.
Mr. Sait’s demand for using 50 per cent of the penalty amount collected for traffic violations comes after the city police began collecting a large sum of money for traffic violations by stepping up the checking process. He said a portion of the penalty amount should be used for traffic management infrastructure on the lines of system prevalent in Bengaluru.
Police picnic in restricted KRS backwaters makes a splash

Srirangapatna: A day after an incident of a youth driving a Police jeep on the wall of the high-security Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) Dam from the main gate (North Gate) came to light, another incident where Police personnel were found partying at
KRS backwaters, again a restricted area, has surfaced.
Photos of Policemen partying at the backwaters after pitching a shamiyana are being circulated widely on social media, questioning the special privileges granted to them when public entry is banned in that sensitive zone.
The Police team from the Karnataka Police Academy more than 120 of them along with their family members partied at the backwaters around 200 metres from the North Gate at Hosa Kannambadi village and indulged in fun games and also played in water.
