Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board to launch two marriage schemes for the welfare of poor Brahmin families, who are facing difficulty in getting marriage alliances due to their economical background. The board will introduce schemes â Arundhati and Maitreyi, on a pilot basis offering financial bonds to those who will marry poor priests and poor brahmin brides.Â
The board has recently received approval from the authorities to launch the scheme and it has set aside funds to offer people coming forward for taking part in the scheme.Â
Board chairman H S Sachidananda Murthy, who is also a BJP leader, said, We are in the process of chalking out the procedures to avail these funds. This is part of our efforts to assist weaker sections of the community.â
