A Karnataka woman, who was harassed by a group of six men due to her interfaith relationship, has alleged that she was gang-raped by the same group. Three suspects have been arrested by the police, and the case will now be treated as a grave crime. The survivor and her family have been assured of police protection.
Karnataka: The videos, shared widely, depict the attackers waiting outside the lodge room in Hanagal Taluk of Haveri District. After recording the room number, they forcefully enter, targeting the woman who attempts to shield herself with a burqa. The assailants hurl abuses, violently hitting the woman to the ground. The man is also assaulted and captured when attempting to escape. One attacker corners the woman, lifting her hijab and filming her.
The deceased, Yogesh H. Nagarajappa and Prathiba Y. Amarnath both 37 years of age and their 6-year-old son Yash Honnal, were found dead at their Baltimore home.
