Gardiner Haskins donates oven to South Cerney playgroup | Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard

A CIRENCESTER-BASED business has donated and fitted a brand new oven and hob at South Cerney Playgroup. Gardiner Haskins made the donation over the weekend to ensure the playgroup don t go without a working oven during one of the coldest months of the year. At the start of January, the playgroup found themselves in the unfortunate position of having an oven and hob that did not work. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the playgroup have been unable to do any fundraising for nearly a year and therefore did not have the funds to replace it. Jo Hanson, who is a member of the committee, reached out to Gardiner Haskins to ask if they could provide a discount for a replacement.

AN inspirational support worker has won our Gloucestershire Care Hero 2020 award. Gail Hadland, who works for Careful Care in Cirencester, received the most votes in our inaugural competition, narrowly beating Stephanie Burns and Angela Kavanagh as well as dozens of other nominees. As well as the trophy, Gail will receive a 43” Mitchell & Brown TV from Gardiner Haskins and a hamper worth £50 from Pound Farm Shop. Mother-of-three Gail was nominated for the award by her eldest daughter, Clare. Reacting to being announced the winner, Gail, who turns 60 next week, said: “I am overwhelmed by all the kindness. There are far far more carers out there who deserve it.
