HOUSTON – An Astros season ticket holder is suing the team for breach of contract, alleging he is owed a refund because of the shortened 2020 season. Seeking up to $250,000 in damages, Karl Oswald filed suit against the Houston Astros on May 26 in Harris County District Court. According to the lawsuit, starting in 2017 Oswald purchased season tickets from the Astros, but was never informed during the transactions that the tickets or seat licenses were not refundable. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 season was shortened and fans were not allowed to attend games. The Astros refunded Oswald’s tickets for 2020 but not the $80,000 he paid for the license.
