Several shoreline beaches were closed to swimming Thursday as a result of lingering water quality issues following last week’s impact of Tropical Storm Elsa.
Based on further test results that came in Thursday, no swimming will be allowed for the time being, DEEP spokeswoman Meghan Bard said. More testing will be conducted Friday.
Meanwhile, officials in Clinton closed the town beach to swimmers Wednesday and Thursday following similar reports, according to the town’s website.
