Rural Maine crash kills 2, injures several others

By - Associated Press - Tuesday, February 2, 2021 SANDY RIVER PLANTATION, Maine (AP) - Two people were killed and several others injured in a Monday night car crash in the northwestern part of Maine, police said. A car driven by Karl Crute, 79, of Cushing collided with a car driven by Kaylee Knight, 18, of Chesterville in Sandy River Plantation, police said. The crash killed two passengers in Knight’s car, police said. They were Thomas Deckard-Madore, 17, of Strong and Michaela Morgan, 15, of Phillips. Karl Crute and his wife Laraine Crute, 79, remained hospitalized with serious injuries on Tuesday, police said. Maine State Police said they were still investigating the cause of the crash.

Cushing couple hospitalized following Sandy River Plantation crash; two teens perish

Tue, 02/02/2021 - 8:30am The Maine Office of Public Safety reported that Karl Crute, 79, and his wife Laraine Crute, 79, of Cushing, remain hospitalized following a crash on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation. The report said: “On February 1, 2021, at approximately 8:45 p.m., a gray 2017 Toyota Avalon, driven and occupied by Karl Crute, 79, and his wife Laraine Crute, 79, from Cushing, were traveling north on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation when a black 2009 Pontiac G6 was traveling south, driven and occupied by Kaylee Knight, 18, of Chesterville and four teenaged passengers. “The two vehicles struck each other and as a result two of the passengers in the vehicle driven by Knight were killed: Thomas Deckard-Madore, 17, of Strong; and Michaela Morgan, 15, of Phillips. 

2 Teens Dead In Franklin County Crash

Police are investigating a crash last night that killed two teens and injured three others in the Franklin County town of Sandy River Plantation. The crash occurred on Route 4, between a vehicle driven by 79-year-old Karl Crute and a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Kaylee Knight. Two passengers in Knight’s car, 17-year-old Thomas Deckard-Madore of Strong and 15-year-old Michaela Morgan of Phillips were killed. Crute, his passenger, and another passenger in Knight’s car remain hospitalized with serious injuries. Tags:

Two Teenagers Die in Sandy River Plantation Crash Two teens were killed and several other people injured in a Monday night crash in Sandy River Plantation. 17-year-old Thomas Deckard-Madore of Strong and 15-year-old Michaela Morgan of Phillips died in an accident Monday night on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation. They were passengers in a black Pontiac G6, driven by 18-year-old Kaylee Knight, along with two other teenagers. Just after 8:30, their vehicle collided with a gray Toyota Avalon,driven by 79-year-old Karl Crute, and also occupied by his wife, 79-year-old Laraine Crute. One of teens, along with the Crutes, are being treated at the hospital for serious injuries.
