Addis Ababa, 28 May 2021, ECA – The African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC) of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) held the first Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of its fourth programme cycle in Dakar, Senegal, from 26 to 27 May 2021. The hybrid event was hosted by ECA’s African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) and preceded by a Partners Meeting that was held on 25 May 2021. As recently announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canada awarded funding of CAN$15.2 million to ATPC to cover its fourth programme cycle that runs from 2021 to 2025. This was the first meeting under the new project, titled “Implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to boost intra-African trade”.
