Kulgam, Apr 16: A 30-year-old woman whose video went viral on social media wherein she was seen shouting at the security forces asking them to stop the search operation at her house, was Friday booked under Unlawful Activities and Prevention Act.
Officials told that a woman SPO identified as Saima Akhtar, daughter of Ghulam Nabi Rah of Frisal area of Kulgam was seen shouting at security forces in a video during a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Frisal, Kulgam.
A video captured by her during the CASO has also went viral on social media, police said, adding that the woman SPO was later arrested by the Police from her residence in Karewa Mohallah of village Frisal and lodged at Police Station Yaripora.
SRINAGAR: The cordon and search operations (CASO) have came in sharp focus in the last few days. While in one case, a housewife allegedly died, in another case, the police arrested a lady, who was already working with the police as SPO.

Srinagar: A special police officer of Jammu and Kashmir police has been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and disengaged from service after a video showing her arguing with security forces over the search of her house and complaining that they are being “subjected to such harassment regularlyâ went viral.

A Special Police Officer (SPO), engaged in South Kashmir s Kulgam district was arrested and terminated from service for glorifying terrorism through social media. She has been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
She was also charged with obstructing government officials from discharging their duties. The arrested SPO had reportedly created hurdles while cops were conducting a search operation after getting information about the presence of a group of terrorists in the area.

As per police officials, on April 14, a search operation was launched after getting specific input regarding the presence of terrorists in Karewa Mohallah of village Frisal. During the course of the search, the search party was obstructed by a woman identified as Saima Akther daughter of Ghulam Nabi Rah, a resident of Frisal of Kulgam.
