delays, and in some cases, cancelled flights. some airports and airlines have been struggling as passenger numbers gradually return to pre pandemic levels. at manchester airport it got so bad that managing director karen smart announced that she would stand down. joining me now is susannah streeter, senior investment and markets analyst, hargreaves lansdown. just how bad is it likely to be in the next few days? certainly, 15,000 passengers had flights disrupted yesterday. we hear that dozens more flights are being cancelled today, with more expected to be disrupted as we head into next week as well. there is a double whammy. the fact that there are staff shortages coming out of the pandemic, because so many staff were laid off, and also, there is a high level of absence due to covid so there are problems notjust to covid so there are problems not just with the airlines to covid so there are problems notjust with the airlines but also to the airports as well,
