Now News Group was honored with more than two dozen accolades at the Wisconsin Newspaper Association s annual Better Newspapers Contest. Awards were bestowed in a virtual ceremony on Feb. 19. All seven of the community papers received awards, as well as the weekly Wisconsin State Farmer. The awards covered work from September 2019 through August 2020. Overall, the group took six first-place awards, 13 seconds, 11 thirds and four honorable mentions in categories including photography, feature writing, news and sports. Lake Country Lake Country Now received five awards: first place, photo gallery, Scott Ash for Canadian Pacific Holiday Train ; second, investigative reporting, Evan Frank; second, general news photo, Ash; third, business coverage; Frank; third, artistic photo, Ash.
